About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover: Wheatland sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] with brown midrib phenotype from the gene mbr-6. Such brown midrib mutations are associated with reduced lignin content in several crop species. The interactions of genes involved in lignin metabolism with genetic background and the environment in which the low-lignin crop is cultivated are substantial. See Pedersen et al., 812-819.
