Marker positions are based on McCouch et al. (2002). The seven markers used to identify blast resistance genes Pi-b, Pi-kh, Pi-ks, Pi-ta (Fjellstrom et al., 2004), and Pi-z (Conaway-Bormans et al., 2003) in U.S. breeding lines are underlined. Following each SSR marker, the number of alleles associated with each SSR marker used in this study and the PIC value (Bolstein et al., 1980) are listed. Markers identified in this study as associated with blast resistance traits (Table 2) are identified in bold italics. The SSR map was designed with MapChart (Voorrips, 2002).
