Values for the plate without sorghum were taken from ten randomly selected 6 mm fields across each of two plates. There was no germination on these plates for the first count made at 3 d (before ethylene). Germination counts for sorghums were taken within 3 mm of the main root. Bars represent the mean of each accession ± one standard deviation (n = 11). Letters above bars indicate significance groups; means sharing the same letter are not significantly different (p < 0.008).
