Fig. 1. Monthly (P < 0.0001) means for non-PGR-treated ‘Penncross’ creeping bentgrass root biomass averaged across the 1997 to 1998 and 1998 to 1999 growing seasons to illustrate seasonal trends. Error bars represent a calculated LSD0.05 value of 0.08. Mowing height treatments were initiated 16 March 1997 and maintained throughout the experiment. Plant growth regulator treatments were first applied 17 April 1997, and monthly thereafter. Root biomass values were based on two 1800 cm3 cores plot-1.
