Fig. 1 Chromosome 3A map of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) showing the locations of loci controlling anthesis date (Eps), plant height (PHT), kernel number per spike1 (KPS), 1000-kernel weight (TKWT), and spike number per square meter (SPSM), associated with RFLP markers (P < 0.05). The map was developed with a population of recombinant inbred chromosome lines for chromosome 3A made from CNN(WI3A) and its parent cultivar Cheyenne (CNN). The marker order is shown on right hand side while the genetic distance is on left hand side of the map. A break is shown between Eps, and Xcdo549 and Xbcd907 because the distance between the loci would indicate they are close to independent. The centromere is designated by `C' and was located from the ITMI map (McGuire and Qualset, 1996)
