Short and Long Period Storage of Pollen of Ricinus communis L.1

Rainer Haarring, L. H. Zimmerman and J. D. Smith2

Pollen of castor (Ricinus communis L.) was treated and stored under three conditions: growth chamber, deep freeze, and freeze-dried followed by room storage. The results suggest that castor pollen can be successfully stored up to 1 year in a deep-freeze or by freeze-drying.
