A seedling graft technique was used to study the inheritance and linkage of a lethal chlorophyll mutant in sugarbeets, Beta vulgaris L. This lutescens (1uJ was inherited as a single recessive character and is independent of monogermness, Mendelian-male-sterility or genes in the well-known Y-R-B linkage group.
