Agents Affecting Survival of Red and White Clovers Exposed to Low Temperatures in a Freezing Chamber1

A method was developed for testing tolerance of red and white clover plants to low temperatures. Plant survival was influenced by: the rate of temperature decrease during freezing; age of plants and low soil moisture at the time of freezing; and kind and extent of foliar disease prior to freezing.
