Negative Evidence for Mutagenic Activity of the Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus in Maize1

The frequency of dominant to recessive mutations for specific loci on three chromosomes in maize was the same in F1 endosperms from pollinations involving virus-infected males and healthy controls. The data indicated that the maize dwarf mosaic virus was not mutagenic.
