Linkage relationships of six characters were studied in the sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) cross SB1066 X M35-1. The involvement of one to three genes was observed in different characters. Ratios for four of six characters are reported for the first time. Analysis of the joint segregation data revealed the existence of both pleiotropy and linkage. The gene q, controlling pigmentation in leaf sheath, was found to be linked with Ym1 (midrib color). Al2, (phyllotaxy), Lt2, (leaf sheath covering), and I-Er (position of panicle). These genes were assigned to linkage group II.
