Identifiation of a Combine-Height Grain Sorghum Dominant for Dw₁¹

A combine-height sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) selection from SC 102-9 gave tall F₁'S when crossed to lines dominant for the height genes Dw₂ Dw₃ or Dw₄. Appropriate test crosses indicated that the line was the first recorded instance of the height genotype Dw₁ Dw₁ dw₂ dw₂ dw₃ dw₃ dw₄ dw₄. It can be used for genetic studies and for classification of parents for proper use hi either grain or forage sorghum hybrids.
