The effect of herbicides on corn (Zea mays L.) kernel oil percentage and fatty acid composition was determined for 30 herbicide treatments involving 10 herbicides. None of the preplant-incorporated, preemergence-, or postemergence-applied treatments affected corn kernel oil percentage or fatty acid composition. Adjuvants and herbicide combination also were without effect. Failure to control weeds also did not alter the total oil percentage or the fatty acid composition of the corn kernel.
