Pollen production and seed set were compared for cultivars and derived homozygous pollinator "R" lines with cytoplasm and genetic restorers from Triticum timopheevi. Pollen production and anther extrusion were determined in the laboratory on excised spikes from greenhouse and field-grown plants. Some restored "R" lines were as good as their parent cultivars for pollen dispersal. In diverse controlled environments restored "R" lines were somewhat more sensitive to temperature and photoperiod than were normal cultivars. Apparently "R" lines developed with T. timopheevi cytoplasm will be satisfactory for most environments.
