A new gene, designated BtlO, conferred resistance to races T-l and T-15 of common bunt (Tilletia caries and T. foetida) in the wheat cross, (Triticum
estivum L.) PI 116306 (resistant)x Elgin (susceptible) and to races T-l and L-9 in the cross PI 116301 x Elgin. BtlO confers resistance to all races of common bunt found in the Pacific Northwest States with the exception of race X-l. The possibility of a loose linkage between BtlO and the locus for glume color on chromosome IB is discussed.
