Genetic linkage of three genes in soybeans—y12, a seedling chlorophyll deficiency gene, t, a pubescence color gene, and e1,, a gene conditioning earliness and shortness—was established in Linkage Group I. The combined recombination value for y12 and el was 20.2 ± 1.1%, for e1 and t was 3.9 ± 0.4%, and for y12 and t was 21.6 — 0.7%. Pubescence color, Tt, and a duplicate locus conditioning cotyledon color, D2d2, previously reported linked, were shown to be inherited independently. The order of genes in Linkage Group I appears to be y12-e1-t.
